I realized something today, I am starting to be able to hear parts of sacrament meeting! This means that my children are behaving in such a fashion that I do not have to center 100% of my attention on keeping them quiet (I think we're at about 85%). I noticed something else. The kids have realized that as long as they are quiet I will allow them to do almost anything. I am going to have to revise my thinking on that as they are becoming expert silent wrestlers - which is still too distracting (not to mention fairly inappropriate) in the chapel. Of course, they generally have a pretty good partner in Daddy - but we won't go there.
Today, Ben was climbing on Daddy and decided to slide off the bench head-first. Byron and I really just watched - I was waiting for his hands to come forward to catch his head, but they just stayed on the bench next to his hips. This did not happen quickly - Ben slowly slid toward the ground. When he finally reached the point where gravity took over, there was a solid thud that could probably be heard for a couple of rows in any direction. At that point Byron and I jumped and I readied myself to take a screaming kid out quickly. Instead, we hear a quiet but distinct "Ooopsie."
Needless to say, I started tearing up from trying to hold the laughter back. I am sure that whoever was speaking must have thought their message was touching my heart ... I am also sure that it ought to have. Back to the drawing board!

My bench at church was pretty quite today since it was just Zach and I. I was across the chapel but I didn't hear anything. I have sat around you and your little ones are doing good. You must be doing something right - good job!!!
I did hear a thump and waited for a cry. I didn't know where it came from, I was just happy it wasn't my bench. You do realize now that you have noticed and documented your children's goodness the next few weeks will make you eat your words. (At least I hope that happens to other people and not just me).
That is so funny!!
