Happy Mother's Day?

Today is Mother's Day and it has been good and bad, but mostly good. Yesterday our family spent the day in Bakersfield so that I could get my hair done. It looks great ... finally! Somebody PLEASE remind me that I have promised (again) never to cut my hair again. The kids were pretty good and Byron didn't get too impatient. This morning I was awakened at 4am by a little girl who must be cutting a tooth or something because she is running a little fever and very very very onery - but certainly not listless or sick in any other way. I think she just can't handle a day where she is not the center of attention - wonder where she gets that from?

We got dressed and made it to church. Josh had a talk on Mothers and I asked Byron to help him with that because I thought it was kind of like planning my own surprise party for me to do it. Of course, I ended up doing it this morning. We worked together and he was very excited to be able to do this talk. So, of course, the Bishop decided that we all needed a "treat" and closed down church after Sacrament meeting. Doesn't he know that going to church IS a treat for us? The kids love being in Primary and I love the Spirit that is in our home all day when we can discuss lessons and such. Needless to say, I was irritated! On the plus side, I finally had some time to sit down and catch up on the blog!

I really wanted to get family pictures taken for Mother's Day, but I also did not want any pictures taken until I found a better hairstyle. Since I couldn't pay for both the hair appointment and professional pictures, I decided to ask someone to help out. The family pictures didn't show up, so Tim must not have pushed the button all the way down. And this is what I got for the kids ... guess I need to make that picture appointment after all!

  1. Okay, about the whole "counseled with the Primary"...not exactly. At 9:30 pm Saturday night... Not exactly at all... but at this point, what can you do?

I am boycotting Mother's Day next year. I think I'll go to a ward where they meet the full three hours. And pass out chocolate.

At least your hair was cute.

  2. Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't feel rewarded when church is cancelled! I don't want to boycott, but maybe I will start campaigning in early March to have a whole block ... what do you think, petition? Definitely need chocolate ...

I also like my hair ... finally!
